In Blue Point, on Long Island, William Schettino had a dream to turn an unused park that locals referred to as “the wasteland,” into a smaller skatepark for the local community. He tragically passed before the plan could come to fruition, which eventually transformed this project into a way for the community to honor William's spirit and create something meaningful for area's skaters. Due to the limited space, we kept the design intentionally minimal, focusing on clean geometry, smart flow lines, and elements that stack versatility into a compact space. It’s the kind of “less is more” project that reminds us why small community spots can be so special. Built by CA Skateparks, the final installation came together beautifully. We appreciate that the construction portion of the project landed with a solid crew dedicated to quality work. Ryan Clements and Byron Hubbard recently stopped by for a session and gave it the thumbs up.
