Ocala Skatepark Phase 2 is coming to life. The current design, recently approved by the City of Ocala, is about creating strong connections to existing features, allowing for the integration of new elements into the existing context, while complementing and enhancing their surroundings.

Marathon, FL is about to get the southernmost custom concrete skatepark in the United States. We are privileged to be working alongside the City of Marathon on their park renovation and incorporating not only a new skatepark design, but all supporting features as well.

Adaptive and Neurodivergent Considerations in Skatepark Design Thinking at Platform Group

Skateparks are just as much a social vehicle as they are a sports facility. Because of this, it’s important to consider the amenities and experience surrounding the skatepark facility. Chaperones, parental units, non-active friends, and support are all part of the social community that will utilize the passive areas of the skatepark. Access from all angles and intentional design of the perimeter of the park is just as important as the field of play itself.
