In between designing and building large-scale projects, these small one-offs give us space to stretch our creative muscles. With clients like Red Bull, we’re encouraged to push ideas further and explore concepts that don’t need the same level of long-term sustainability and durability as our permanent skatepark designs. The Red Bull Boarding Pass property is themed around air travel. So we asked, "What if the obstacle looked like it came directly off an airplane?" The result was a traditional, tall jump ramp with two small kickers, inspired by the form of an aircraft’s tail wing. At each of the three Red Bull Boarding Pass stops, we saw a lot of skaters getting huge airs, from the hometown hero, to pros like CJ Collins. It even got backflipped in Atlanta! Projects like this serve as a reminder of how enjoyable it can be to experiment and bring unique ideas to life.
