Dragon’s Nest Skatepark was Maine’s first public skatepark. Originally built in 1991 in the Mt. Blue area, it was ultimately buried and forgotten for decades. In 2020, local volunteers uncovered the site and launched an effort to bring it back to life. Working with Tobee Parkhurst from Maine Skateboard Association, Platform reimagined the park to meet the needs of modern skaters, while making efficient use of the existing footprint. The updated concept features a mix of transition and street elements, including a mini-ramp, ledges, a pyramid, manual pads, rails, a quarter-pipe, and a bank ramp. The project is currently in the fundraising phase, intending to deliver a revitalized skatepark for the Mount Blue region.
