Budget and site constraints forced us to rethink the 8,300 sf complete redesign of the existing skatepark. Rather than viewing these constraints as setbacks, we distilled the original concept into a central feature obstacle. In doing so, we were able to incorporate many of the desired elements at a fraction of the cost of a full rebuild. By relocating select ramps and introducing this new centerpiece, the park gains renewed energy and functionality, breathing new life into the space without the need for major demolition and construction.
