Working on the expansion of the Ocala Skatepark meant a great deal to us at Platform Group. There’s something special about building in your own backyard, especially when you’re able to collaborate with the local skate community. Feedback from Phil Hajal and other Ocala skaters helped shape a design that truly reflects how the park is used and what riders want. It was also meaningful to have Tito Porrata, who helped bring the original park to life, involved in the expansion design, creating a strong connection between the park’s past and future. Incorporating colored concrete into the new features gives the park a fresh look that really makes it pop. The City of Ocala was outstanding throughout the process, committed to delivering a space that properly serves its community.
