Red Bull Origin celebrates the roots of skateboarding, and for this event, Platform Group partnered with MESH Productions to design a series of ramps inspired by what was being skated in 1980's Venice Beach. With the original layouts razed years ago, Windward Plaza served as our base to recreate iconic terrain, including a bank-to-bank over a car, a fire hydrant set-up referencing Natas Kaupas’ original street spot nearby, and a large quarter-pipe with extension. Existing site features were subtly incorporated, allowing the build to stay connected to the surrounding street environment.
